Thorne Railway, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

THORNE RAILWAY

The Thorne Memorial Park Miniature Railway is operated by the volunteer members of the Doncaster & District Model Engineering Society Ltd. This miniature railway is the only one to be found in a public park within the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council area. All proceeds are put into the funding, the operations and development of the railway.

Directions

Thorne Park Railway is about 1-2 miles from the M18 junctions 5 & 6. The railway is located next to the Stainforth and Keadby Canal on the A614 into the town centre.

Facilities

Disabled access is available next to the railway, please ring +44 (0) 1405 813131 for days this facility is available. Whilst in view of the size of the carriages disabled access may be restricted, our staff will assist wherever possible to enable persons with disabilities.

OPENING TIMES

Spring/Summer train service operates Sunday afternoons from Easter to September, Bank Holiday Sundays and Mondays subject to staffing and weather conditions. Autumn/Winter timetable between October 2010 and April 2011 trains will operate every first Sunday in the month.

Parking

Nearby is a free council public car park and some road parking opposite the bus stop for the park.
