Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

BRODSWORTH HALL AND GARDENS

Brodsworth Hall and Gardens at Donny OnlineOne of the most complete surviving examples of a Victorian Country House in England, time has almost stood still for Brodsworth since the 1860's. The Hall still has original furnishings, faded opulence, servants wing and restored victorian gardens.

There are over 30 rooms to view ranging from the grandeur of the reception rooms to the servants wing with its big range from the era of Mrs Beeton. The House sits within beautiful Victorian period gardens which are used for special events through out the summer.

Brodsworth Fulfilled the role as a grand residence for its owner Charles Thellusson. After the First World War spiraling costs made certain that parts of the House were closed down.

When English Heritage took over the Hall the gardens were overgrown, their policy was to preserve the Grandeur of this fading Victorian House so that when visitors now come to the Hall they literally step back in time.
