FREDDIE TRUEMAN LIVED HERE

In 1943, when future cricketing legend Freddie Trueman was just 12, his family moved here from Stainton by Maltby Colliery.

It was a larger house, useful for 7 children, and it made it easier for Fred to attend Maltby Hall Secondary School. For a kid growing up, a town was miles better than the countryside.
