The Hall Cross, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
THE HALL CROSSCommissioned by Doncaster Corporation, architected by William Lindley, and erected in 1793. This (relatively) new cross replaced an older one which stood in the way of road improvements at the nearby junction. It's been Grade II listed since 1950.
The inscription on the North side of the base reads "This cross was rebuilt by the corporation. 1793. Henry Heaton Esq, Mayor."Interactive 3D ViewStreet Map
