John Wesley Statue, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
JOHN WESLEY STATUELocal artist Henry Tilbury designed this statue to represent John Wesley, founder of the Wesleyan Methodists. He is depicted attired in a gown, with a Bible in his hand, preaching from a tombstone. He had once delivered a sermon from the stone above his father's grave in nearby Epworth churchyard.
It took a while to arrive however, having been shelved until finally erected in 2003!Interactive 3D ViewStreet Map
