Doncaster Racecourse, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
DONCASTER RACECOURSEHome to the oldest British Classic, the St Leger, Doncaster Racecourse offers top quality action on the Flat and over the sticks. Well known for its excellent drainage, the ground rarely turns testing putting the emphasis on basic speed rather than stamina. The four-day St Leger Meeting in September is one of the most popular Festivals and features a clutch of Group and Listed races. Over the jumps, the Pertemps Great Yorkshire Chase in January is always a competitive affair and remains one of the highlights of the National Hunt season.
National Hunt: left-handed, galloping, generally flat, heavy ground rare. Circuit is 2 miles.
Flat: left-handed, pear-shaped, galloping. Almost 2 miles round with a 4 1/2 furlong run-in. Round and straight miles, mainly flat.

The racecourse is a mile from Doncaster town centre. From the south the A1 and M1/M18 are good routes. There are signs to the racecourse from the motorways.
East of the town, off the A638 (M18 junction 3 and 4). Large public car park free and adjacent to the course.
By Train:
Doncaster Central is the closest station. Buses 55, 170 and 171 from the station stop 300 metres from the racecourse itself. Interactive 3D ViewStreet Map
