Little John's Well, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
LITTLE JOHN'S WELLThis is the site of a barely recognisable well, called for the past 200 years Little John's Well, and used to be drinkable from until the mid-late 20th century.
Little John's Well is a short distance from Skelbrooke and just behind it used to be a small cave called locally Little John's Cave but now long gone.
Situated by the A638, to the west of Barnsdale, the stone was once engraved with the outlaws' name but is now derelict.
Now it's dry, overgrown, and barely visible in the undergrowth.DirectionsTake the A1(M) and turn off at Junction 38 heading towards Hampole & Wakefield. The first junction is where the well is, down the verge on the left.Street Map
