Doncaster Features: Famous Doncastrian: Ray Eden
Ray Eden won the RTTC National 100-mile Championship in 1995 at his second attempt, and represented Great Britain four times in stage racing, including the Irish Ras stage race in which he won a stage and the points jersey.
He died recently after suffering head injuries in an incident near his home in Scawthorpe on 18 March and died three days later in Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
Mr Eden was also a keen rower, but found he had a talent for cycling while working as a bike courier in London.
He worked for local bike and component maker Planet X from Rotherham.
