Im doing some family history from Australia and looking for any relatives of Sarah Thompson who married Harry Clayton 1920 Doncaster. Her father was Joseph Thompson a miner from Carcroft.
I have found a possible family.
Joseph Thompson and Annie Allen married Mar 1/4 1893 Chesterfield
children MAbel A. (Allen?) born to Annie b4 she met Joseph b. jun 1/4 1886
Annie Elizabeth A. (Allen?) born b4 marriage also, maybe Joseph the father? b. 1891 chesterfield
William b. 1893
James Edward b. Dec 1/4 1894
John Thomas b. Jun 1/4 1897
Gladys May b. sept 1/4 1901 bapt 15/08/1901 St Peters, Calow
Sarah b. Jun 1/4 1903 Chesterfield
Violet b. Mar 1/4 1905 " " d. 1915 aged 10
Olive b. Jun 1/4 1906 " "
They were living in Mansfield Nottinghamshire in the 1911 census
68 New Villiage, Carcroft in 1915
Joseph and possibly his new wife Lilly were living 68 Markham Ave, CArcroft in 1920 the year Sarah married.
This is the only Joseph living in Carcroft at this time.
The witnesses at her wedding were Mabel and Frederick Warren possibly her sister???
Im hoping to find living relatives as I never knew my Grandmother Sarah Clayton. She remarried sometime later after leaving my Grandfather in about 1932. And had two more children a girl and a boy. we think this daughter died young.
Her sister Mabel lived in Sheffield. There was another sister called Cissy (maybe a nickname) she had a son called Joe (joseph Thompson). and maybe his son was Brian and Brians wife was possibly Doris?
Sorry for the maybes but this is the little information I know.
