My little one has already started rubbing her gums and being fussy:( Colic is finished, but teething doesn't let her sleep now:( I have asked a HV, she said, there is no rule when at earliest teething is supposed to start. So I have bought a teether from tommy tippee, dummy like, and she finally likes it after a struggle. She is still to young for bonjela:( Can't wait to give it a try. I keep my fingers crossed and hope, that she will sleep more than three hours at once in the night time:(
BTW we tried out Tesco nappies stage 3 - they too are very good, same as the newborn ones, stay dry even when she wees a lot. After being very dissapointed with Huggies newborn, as I checked them and they were moist I stay with Tesco's. Still have 5 packs Huggies newborn at home:(

Oh wow! My daughter is at the stage of stuffing her fists in her mouth, but I think it's just her finding she can fit them in her mouth. She does have a slight white tinge to her gums, but they seem to have been like that for a while.
HV is right - no rule to it - some babies are actually born with teeth!! My 3 year old was a few days over 9 months when he cut his first tooth. They do seem to come through on the bottom first, so see if she will let you have a closer look.

Dentonox better as pain relief than Bongela as it has a local anaesthetic in it. You can get a bongela with similar also in it, but stick with what you have and give them a cool teething toy from the fridge to chew on as well. Halo is right, "usually" bottom two teeth will erupt 1st then top 2 then a free for all! lol
We found brand name nappys also sometimes not as good as the stores own. We used both Tesco and Sainsbury and never had any problems with either.

It looks like it isn't as rare as I thought! My sister in law has a son 3 weeks younger than my daughter, he is sucking on his fists like crazy and his gums are white from all the teeth you can see!!!
I have anbesol for ulcers and wow does it sting! Little lad screamed his head off when I tried to give him some for his teeth and then clamped his mouth shut - wouldn't let me do the bonjela either, so I have just had to settle for teething rings and his fists. It remains to be seen if my girl will be the same.

I have bought Tommee Tippee teethers for early teething, which Julia doesn't like to keep in her mouth for longer, but they are moon like shaped and are perfect for applying teething gel.

Sneaky tactic there with the teething ring - I like it! Will have to give that a try with the baby when she starts with the teething. May have to adapt the idea and spread it an a lolly or something that my lad will put in his mouth when he gets ulcers

So, my Julia has two bottom ones now:) And I have found Boots gel most effective, cheap and good.

Wow - you little one is younger than mine. She has just reached 10 months and although we can see gum bumps on the bottom for the 2 front teeth, no real sign of them poking through!!
She has strong gums and has quite a bite to her if she decides to chomp on your finger. God help us when she gets teeth and starts testing them out!!

She is 10 months now, 6 teeth already - four top ones, two bottom ones:) Find it difficult to put gel on her gums using my finger, cause she bites:) I think the bigger ones are coming out now, as she wakes up in the night crying:( And she caught some viral infection:(Good thing I am off 'till saturday as she could not go to the nursery anyway. And finally she says mama:) As far she could tell all members of the family except me:)
