Doncaster Features: Doncaster Rovers 0 Brentford 0

It was all nerves at the start when Brentford’s goalkeeper scored after Andy Warrington fumbled Nelson’s clearance but it was ruled out for a push by Dean Burton.

The first REAL chance fell to Brentford in the form of Rankin who hit it from 20 yards out, only to see if fly over the bar.

Brentford tried to keep the pressure on Doncaster and nearly took the lead when Eddie Hutchinson headed across goal from a corner just 6 yards out but it somehow went wide.

Doncaster hit back on 14 minutes when James Coppinger put in a decent cross to Neil Roberts who from 6 yards scooped it over with his left foot.

The game was livening up now and Talbot nearly but his side ahead with a volley from 18 yards but Andy Warrington was equal to it.

Dean Burton had an ambitious 25-yard attempt before McIndoe had his effort saved by Stuart Nelson.

Doncaster were looking to take the lead when Guy was brought down by Turner on the half-hour mark but Rigoglioso punched his effort into the wall.

Tabb then put his effort wide before Nick Fenton headed a corner wide 2 minutes before half-time.

The teams went in even at the break but within a minute of the restart, Deon Burton volleyed from 6 yards out, just to see his effort tipped round the post by Andy Warrington.

Tim Ryan watched his 20-yard-effort travel wide on 50 minutes as both sides scrapped for a goal in this important game.

Doncaster’s free-kick takers were not on form so-far today. James Coppinger was brought down by Frampton who earned himself a booking but McIndoe just wasted the chance by hitting the wall.

McIndoe, clearly frustrated, earned himself a booking a minute later with a foul on Jay Tabb.

Stuart Nelson proceeded to make a good save from John Doolan’s 20-yard effort and didn’t have to move a minute later when McIndoe fired wide from a similar distance.

The game died down a bit then with neither side mustering a chance until James Coppinger had his shot from 6 yards saved by Stuart Nelson.

With both teams desperately needing the win to keep playoff hopes alive, the players battled on with both managers bring on fresh faces. Lewis Guy left the field on an uneventful home debut and Gregg Blundell took his place.

Mulligan had a 30-yard-effort caught by Stuart Nelson on 79 minutes before Warrington made a comfortable save after Rankin had an effort.

Time was running out and neither side could get anything going and were limited to long-range shots, Pratley having the last shot of the game from 20 yards, just to see it fly over.

FINAL SCORE: 0 - 0
