Rumours of famous celebrities with unconfirmed Doncaster connections:

David Cartwright writes in to say that David Bowies father was Haywood Stenton Jones (known as 'John', born at 41 St. Sepulchre Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN1 1TD, on 21st November 1912. (Which is now an Oxfam shop).

Can anyone confirm?

Donald Pleasance's father was stationmaster at Conisbrough while he was growing up and at Ecclesfield Grammar School.

Also, everyone says Paul Daniels is a Doncaster Rovers fan but that might be more to do with his manager (Bill Turner) being based in Doncaster. Can anyone clarify?
