The 2009 talent tv show Britain's Got Talent final included 76 year old John Neil and his granddaughter Sallie Lax (12 years old), also called Two Grand.

The family-friendly singing duo hail from Rossington, and performing Somewhere Out There - An American Tale in last night's semi-final, the pair were praised by hard-to-please Simon Cowell for their 'complete and utter sincerity' - and were tipped to reach the final before being put though by Cowell and fellow judge Amanda Holden.

John said: "It's the most wonderful thing in the world that's ever happened to me. Since my wife died I've been praying."
