Doncaster News and Features: ROVERS SIGN TEENAGE STRIKER

Doncaster have captured teenage forward Tristram Whitman from Notts side Arnold FC. The player, who has scored 22 times for Arnold this season, cost Rovers 10,000, and is seen as another hope for the future. Whitman played in the Northern Counties League, that has in the past provided Doncaster with Matty Caudwell and Andy Watson.

Boss Ian Snodin said: "This lad is one for the future and we're
not expecting big things from him yet."

The Arnold Town Website had this to say of the player:

Tristram Whitman - (Forward)

Lightning fast striker with an outstanding first touch who was a 1" team regular last season. He finished the season as one of the club's top scorers. Still only a teenager 'Tris' is a future star and is quite capable of fulfilling his ambition in making it to the highest level.

Snodin went on to deny reports that a 125k deal has been offered for another experienced striker, and that the club have been in contact with ex Manchester United forward Mark Robins.
