1317: Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, after attacking Conisbrough Castle finds the 6 men holding it guilty and fines them.
1536: Rebels present '24 Articles' to the Duke of Norfolk on the North Bridge in Doncaster.
1912: The Dearne Valley Railway between Wakefield Kirkgate and Edlington (via Ryhill, Grimethorpe, Great Houghton, Goldthorpe, Harlington and Denaby) opened.
1912: The first sod cut at Rossington Colliery.
1920: Renowned chemist George Porter (Lord Porter) was born in Stainforth.
1940: A fierce storm damaged many aircraft at Doncaster airport and a HP42 Harden and a Harrow Mk2 were completely destroyed.
2012: Sir Nigel Gresley Square is officially opened.
2012: The North Eastern cooling tower at Thorpe Marsh Power Station is spectacularly demolished.
