Event:	Dexter Dextrous & the Fingersmiths
Details:	SATURDAY 18th JANUARY 2014. 20.30 – 02.00 FREE ENTRY - DEXTER DEXTROUS & THE FINGERSMITHS What? You haven’t already heard of Dexter Dextrous and the Fingersmiths? You don’t know about their funk-swing sound and their years of hard work and high profile gigs? Well! I better keep it short because this could go on all day! Dexter Dextrous and The Fingersmiths have been playing together for almost 5 years and are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. They have shared stages with the likes of Mumford and Sons, Craig Charles, Space, Dub Pistols, Slamboree and Utah Saints among others. They work fully independently and have independently recorded and released 2 EPs since their conception – Five Fingers and All Talk. All the money from gigs and CD sales goes straight back into making the band stronger and tighter and recording more music for their listeners. Their sound ranges in influence from James Brown to Sublime taking in a little swing, metal and soul on the way round. Funk holds them together and they’ve been writing more and more funky tunes in 2012, due to be recorded in a new EP, provisionally titled ‘Devil’s Work’. They are also proud to be a part of the Slamboree family tree, often supporting and contributing to their crazy rave circus exploits.
